How to Turn a Long Screenshot into a PDF
Sometimes a combined screenshot needs to be shared as a document rather than an image, for printing, attaching to an email as a formal file, or archiving alongside other PDFs. Converting a long image to PDF only takes a couple of extra steps.
Step 1: Create your long screenshot
Take your individual screenshots, scrolling between each one, then combine them into a single tall image using a screenshot-combining tool.
Step 2: Convert the image to PDF
Once you have one combined image, you can turn it into a PDF a few ways:
- On iPhone: open the image in Photos, tap Share, then Print, and pinch outward on the print preview to turn it into a PDF you can save to Files.
- On Mac: open the image in Preview, then File > Export as PDF.
- On Windows: open the image, choose Print, and select "Microsoft Print to PDF" as the printer.
- Online: use a browser-based image-to-PDF converter if you prefer not to use any of the above.

When PDF is worth it
